It’s the winter, which means WGI Indoor Marching Percussion season is in full swing! PreSonus Education Market Manager Evan Brown happened to be at the 2020 WGI Dayton Regional Finals, and was able to catch a few Independent World Class Ensembles with their PreSonus equipment in action!
Inov8 Winter Percussion, one of the newest ensembles to be rocking PreSonus gear, showed off their 2020 program, “All I Ever Wanted”, which featured the music of the very popular Billie Eilish. Inov8’s setup consisted of ULT10, ULT15, and ULT18 Loudspeakers coupled with a StudioLive 32R Rack mixer.
Perennial Finalist Cap City Percussion from Columbus, Ohio brought their innovative 2020 program, “On the Outside Looking In”, making great use of their massive ULT10, ULT15, and ULT18 Speaker Setup, coupled with a StudioLive 32SX Mixing Console.

This winter, for the WGI 2019 Season, long-time PreSonus users Music City Mystique deployed a unique new redundant live performance computer setup, utilizing the Quantum 4848 Thunderbolt Audio Interfaces for their audio input and output!
“We chose the Quantum 4848’s for our production this year at MCM due to the incredibly low latency. To be able to do some intense live processing on up to 18 mics (9 wireless, 9 wired from our FOH mixer) at once while simultaneously being able to run software instruments with zero latency was pretty incredible. The DB25 connectors made cabling them into our rig way easier and cleaner as well! They were absolutely rock solid all year.” says Matt Jordan, Front Ensemble Arranger for Music City Mystique.

This winter, PreSonus has welcomed Cap City Percussion to their growing list of WGI World Class Percussion Ensembles!
Cap City was envisioned in 2011 as a group for percussionists from the Central Ohio area to grow as musicians and performers. The ensemble began competing in both Winter Guard International and the Ohio Indoor Performance Association during the 2012 season in percussion independent A class. During the 2012 season, Cap City was promoted to Open class and finished its inaugural season in 9th place at WGI World Championships. Cap City followed up a strong first season with a WGI open class gold medal in 2013, a promotion to world class in 2014, and has been a perennial PIW Finalist since the 2017 season.
“Cap City couldn’t sound like we do without the amazing sound quality that PreSonus brings to the activity” says Donnie Ross, CEO of Cap City Percussion. PreSonus Education Market Manager Evan Brown is thrilled as well. “To have Cap City using PreSonus helps further extended our reach and commitment to the marching arts, and with the help of partners like this, we can continue to improve and refine our products to meet the needs of marching programs all over the world!”, states Brown.
For the 2019 Season, Cap City has chosen a StudioLive 32 Series III Digital Mixing Console, coupled with a fleet of ULT loudspeakers, including the ULT15, ULT18S, and a ULT10 for center fill coverage.
