PreSonus Education Market Manager Evan Brown traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana last week, where two spectacular events happened at the same time, the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, and the Bands of America Grand National Championships! PreSonus had a great showing at both events, here’s a few highlights!
At Grand Nationals, PreSonus was proud to have many ensembles using various products in their setups, as well as 3 of the top 12 Finalist bands utilizing PreSonus Live Sound Products!
Across the Street at PASIC, PreSonus was displayed on the show floor by our friends at Pageantry Innovations, showing CDL series loudspeakers, a StudioLive 32SX Mixing Console, a StudioLive 24R Rack Mixer, and ATOM! Evan spent time each day in the PI booth answering questions, meeting users, and showing off the product. On Friday afternoon, our friends at Lone Star Percussion hosted their Amplify sessions, wrapping up with a panel discussion featuring 5 experts in the marching activity, including PreSonus’ Evan Brown!

Get a DAW and Notation software on every computer for one fixed price
Getting the right software for your music department can be daunting but we are pleased to be able to offer an easy and manageable solution for your school or college network. Unlimited music software licenses are now available for both: Studio One 4®, our digital audio workstation (DAW) for electronic music, production and recording; and Notion 6™, our notation and performance application. Both Studio One and Notion are cross platform and can be installed on Windows and Mac.
Yup, the license is unlimited, meaning you don’t need to worry about exactly how many seats you’ll need or what happens when you add more computers – whether your site has 25 computers or 250. If fact you now don’t need to limit the software to the music department – get it installed on every computer in the school and compose and produce everywhere! Just tell us how many computers you think you will install on initially, and we will create a bespoke license for you.
This winter, for the WGI 2019 Season, long-time PreSonus users Music City Mystique deployed a unique new redundant live performance computer setup, utilizing the Quantum 4848 Thunderbolt Audio Interfaces for their audio input and output!
“We chose the Quantum 4848’s for our production this year at MCM due to the incredibly low latency. To be able to do some intense live processing on up to 18 mics (9 wireless, 9 wired from our FOH mixer) at once while simultaneously being able to run software instruments with zero latency was pretty incredible. The DB25 connectors made cabling them into our rig way easier and cleaner as well! They were absolutely rock solid all year.” says Matt Jordan, Front Ensemble Arranger for Music City Mystique.

We’ve gathered all the FAQ’s about our PreSonus Software Site Licenses below. If there’s anything else we can add, let us know via email on email@example.com or Twitter @presonusmued
Is it really unlimited?
Yes, whether you’ve got 20 or 2000 computers on the same single site, it’s one fixed price. We do have a fair use policy, in that we will ask you for an estimate of the number of computers you’d like to install on at your site, and this is subject to our approval. This is to help you manage your activations better (and so that we haven’t put an infinite Studio One license out into the world!). We’ll give you some headroom within this amount, but if you need more, just make a tech support ticket to let us know, and we’ll increase it.
What is a site?
A site is defined as a group of buildings on one physical site. If your school has two or more campuses, or you are a group of schools administrated by a single trust, you will need an unlimited license per individual site. If you are a central instrumental music teaching service, with travelling (peripatetic) teachers, you can also qualify for a site license, just let us know. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
We’ve all been to a sporting event in a stadium and said “I can’t understand the announcer” or “why can’t I understand the music?”
This is precisely why PreSonus offers the WorxAudio Stadium Series loudspeaker systems! Their weather-resistant designs excel in the most extreme environments, such as football and soccer fields, baseball stadiums, and amusement parks. The very broad dispersion reduces the quantity of enclosures needed to provide consistent coverage and minimize comb filtering.
Check out this video from our friends at West Feliciana Parish Schools on why they chose the PreSonus Stadium Solutions!
The powerful ATOM Producer Lab has been unleashed and is now shipping! It’s a perfect fit for making music on the go, in a classroom, on a bus, and anywhere you want to be! Check out what Katfyr has to say about it!
This winter, PreSonus has welcomed Cap City Percussion to their growing list of WGI World Class Percussion Ensembles!
Cap City was envisioned in 2011 as a group for percussionists from the Central Ohio area to grow as musicians and performers. The ensemble began competing in both Winter Guard International and the Ohio Indoor Performance Association during the 2012 season in percussion independent A class. During the 2012 season, Cap City was promoted to Open class and finished its inaugural season in 9th place at WGI World Championships. Cap City followed up a strong first season with a WGI open class gold medal in 2013, a promotion to world class in 2014, and has been a perennial PIW Finalist since the 2017 season.
“Cap City couldn’t sound like we do without the amazing sound quality that PreSonus brings to the activity” says Donnie Ross, CEO of Cap City Percussion. PreSonus Education Market Manager Evan Brown is thrilled as well. “To have Cap City using PreSonus helps further extended our reach and commitment to the marching arts, and with the help of partners like this, we can continue to improve and refine our products to meet the needs of marching programs all over the world!”, states Brown.
For the 2019 Season, Cap City has chosen a StudioLive 32 Series III Digital Mixing Console, coupled with a fleet of ULT loudspeakers, including the ULT15, ULT18S, and a ULT10 for center fill coverage.
